Footpath 36 – Bridge Replacement – Update
Dear Residents
The Trent Bridge, Burston. As everyone knows who walks Two Saints Way between Burston and Aston the river bridge has been unusable since Autumn 2023.There has recently been an update on the progress to restore it by the County Council. The local county councillor has advised Sandon and Burston Parish Council that teams will be onsite in May to deal with the bridge. This will include an ecology assessment, then the removal of the structure. The structure itself will be assessed for suitability for repair. If it is not repairable, there is budget to replace it.When the structure has been removed timescales will be discussed with the Engineers regarding timescales for reinstallation. As the Parish Council receives any updates these will be posted on the website in the news area and in the published minutes.Hugo WildbloodChair of Sandon and Burston Parish Council
