Road Closure - Sandon Road - Bloor Homes Press Release
06.11.2025
New Homes and Schools coming to Beaconside
Temporary road works are taking place on Sandon Road to support the delivery of new schools, affordable homes and other amenities and infrastructure for Beaconside.
The works are part of Bloor Homes’ new 2,000-home development at Sandon Park, north of Beaconside, which will deliver new primary and secondary schools and other amenities including retail units, parkland, sports pitches, a health centre, and an elderly-living facility.
The roadworks will take place between Monday 3 November and Monday 15 December 2025. A one-way system will be in place from Beaconside to Hopton Lane and traffic will be able to travel from Beaconside to the A51.
Bloor Homes, working together with Staffordshire and Stafford Councils, intend to open the new secondary school in September 2028, and these current road works will install the necessary utility services needed for the development.
The wider development at Sandon Park will not only help Stafford Council meet its home building targets and infrastructure needs but will also provide substantial financial contributions through an extensive S106 package of statutory and developer contributions totalling over £28 Million.
Bloor Homes understand that there has been disruption in other parts of Stafford and will seek to work swiftly to minimise disruption. Bloor Homes have worked in tandem with Staffordshire County Council and Stafford Borough Council to ensure the works can be done safely and speedily.
A website providing more information on the project will soon go live, and any questions regarding the works can be sent to engagement@calcomms.co.uk
More information on the progress of the works, and further works planned next year to facilitate the development, will be announced in the next couple of months.
