Could you volunteer to review Police powers to ensure they are being used correctly?

Dear Residents
The Commissioner’s Independent Scrutiny Panels are looking for a diverse group of people to scrutinise Police powers including the use of stop & search, strip search and powers within custody.
Volunteers will help interrogate information and body worn video to identify issues and be involved in suggesting solutions.

The Role Overview
- The themed panels will include scrutiny of Stop & Search, Use of Force, Custody and topical themes including Professional Standards Unit, Contact Centre, Response Hubs and Repeat Demand
- Interrogate information and Body Worn Video to understand variations in Staffordshire
- Provide a report of the outcomes of the scrutiny, including recommendations to the Staffordshire Commissioner and Staffordshire Police
- be involved in developing responses to relevant issues and suggest solutions
