Sandon Road Closures - Bloor Homes update
Dear Residents
We have been provided the following details:
Good morning, please find below an update which was delivered to the residents immediately next to the Sandon Road works. Staffordshire Council’s own contractors, Amey, will soon be contacting residents to outline details of their own works.
Dear neighbour,
We last wrote to you in March to advise you of the next phase of works taking place on Sandon Road, which necessitated a full road closure.
I am now writing to advise you of the next stage of works on this stretch of road. The road closure will stay in place as we prepare to hand over responsibility to Staffordshire County Council’s contractor, Amey. During this week the same access arrangements and diversion route signs will be in place.
The road closure will however be lifted for a few days during the second half of the week of 25 May, in order to support the Staffordshire County Show.
In June, Amey’s initial set of works will commence, with the initial phase running until October 2026. Further details of the 2027 work schedule will be shared with residents and businesses as they are confirmed by Amey.
The map below shows the extent of the initial phase of their works (red line). The homes within the yellow area will continue to have access to their properties but won’t be able to travel through the road closure to and from Beaconside. They will be asked to travel up Sandon Road to the A51, as per the current arrangement. The details of subsequent phases of work, and any changes / updates will be communicated by Amey as works progress.

Amey will be contacting affected residents separately regarding the infrastructure works on Sandon Road in June.
For GDPR reasons, we will not be automatically sharing residents’ personal email addresses with Amey, but if you would like us to share your email address with Amey, please write to engagement@calcomms.co.uk giving us your permission to do so.
Thank you for your patience during these works, we appreciate that there has been some disruption.
Amey will be in contact with the local community in the coming months to update as their works progress. If you would like Amey to email you directly, please let us know.
Yours faithfully,
Bloor Homes
