Burston Footpath 36 - Two Saints Way - update

Dear Residents
We have had the following update from Staffordshire County Council:
“While the ground is starting to dry, the land is still not yet stable enough to safely support the heavy machinery required to install the new bridge. We will need around four weeks of consistent dry weather before work can begin without risking damage to the land or compromising safety.
Before construction can start, we also need to complete the required checks under our Environment Agency licence. This includes a follow-up survey to ensure work will not disturb protected wildlife, and we will need to liaise with our contractors and the landowner to agree all practical arrangements.
The permanent replacement bridge has now been fully manufactured and is ready for delivery as soon as the site is accessible. We are currently planning for work to begin from June, subject to weather conditions, and will move ahead as soon as it is safe to do so.
I appreciate the continued patience locally and will keep you updated as the situation progresses.
Cllr Andrew Mynors – Staffordshire County Council – Ward Councillor. “
